About Pivot
In today’s rapidly changing environment, Episcopal congregations are developing creative ways to share the Good News of Christ, nourish and sustain thriving Christ-centered communities, and work for justice, equity, and belonging within and beyond their walls. To support them in this work, the Episcopal Church Foundation’s new Pivot program equips congregational teams and communities with knowledge and tools to address their leadership and financial challenges and will build and sustain a network for ongoing peer learning.
There are myriad excellent resources and training programs on church leadership and finance. What sets Pivot apart is the relational component. Pivot participants don’t go it alone. Cohorts of congregational teams will participate in a year-long Pivot experience together. This experience includes online workshops and discussions with Resurrection-focused church leaders, skill-building videos and resources, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to build relationships across congregations. Pivot cohorts can have particular focus areas so that congregations can choose the cohort that fits their needs and goals. In forming cohorts, ECF will emphasize outreach to less materially-resourced congregations and to congregations that have been less likely to benefit from ECF’s programs in the past.
Communities and Congregational teams will come away from Pivot with proven, practical tools and strategies for leading thriving churches in the current environment and with a collegial community that they can continue to rely on for ideas, resources, and mutual support.
